Joe has been involved in private equity investing and mergers and acquisitions since 1986.
Before founding HSC in 1996, he was a director at S.G. Warburg & Co., London, from 1993 to 1995 where he helped run operations and finance for Warburg’s international equity derivatives business which had over 200 employees around the globe. From 1991 to 1993, Joe was a Partner and Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of KC-CO Investments, a Chicago-based equity index options market making business which he then helped sell to Warburg.
Prior to that, Joe, worked in New York in mergers & acquisitions for an investment bank and following that, at a New York-based private equity firm.
Joe is a 1986 graduate of Harvard University – Graduate School of Business with a master’s degree and a 1982 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a bachelor’s degree specializing in accounting. After passing the C.P.A. exam, he spent two years in public accounting with a Big 8 accounting firm in Chicago.
As an entrepreneur, ex-business owner and private investor since 1985, Kent brings a depth of experience and well-rounded background well suited to evaluating transactions, working with business owners, board representation and managing growth.
Kent co-founded High Street Capital and has been active in the High Street funds since 1996. Before founding HSC, from 1993 to 1995, Kent was a Managing Director of S.G. Warburg & Co., London, where he ran and had full profit and loss responsibility for their international equity derivatives business. He led the strategy development, built the team, and managed the business. This business had over 200 employees around the globe.
From 1985 to 1993, Kent was the founder and Managing Partner of KC-CO, the general partnership, and then KC-CO Investments, a successful Chicago-based equity options trading business that he grew from one person to an organization of over 65 people. As the majority owner, he sold this business to Warburg in 1993. From 1981 to 1984, Kent, worked on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange as an equity options market maker.
Kent is a 1981 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in finance.
Dick has over 30 years of operating experience in manufacturing and service businesses in the US and internationally. He has led operations in a wide array of industries including industrial products, energy products and services, environmental services, automotive products and building products and in situations involving turnarounds, rapid growth, and start-ups.
As CEO of a family-owned business from 2003 to 2006 with 1,100 employees on three continents in the building products industry, he engineered a shift in marketing strategy that resulted in growth and market share gains in North America, Europe and Asia in a declining market.
From 1998 to 2002 he served as CEO of a private company in the automotive industry, and led the integration of several companies, creating a 10-plant operation with 1,300 employees serving the entire NAFTA based automotive industry. For two years prior to that he held the position of VP Global Business Development and Strategy with Tenneco Automotive.
During a 19-year career at TRW from 1977 to 1996, Dick turned around several manufacturing businesses and was an early implementer of Just-In-Time manufacturing, employee involvement and team-based management processes, and statistical quality methods. As TRW’s senior executive in Asia, he managed several businesses in the region, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and building the value of TRW’s brand in the region.
Dick is a 1982 graduate of the University of Texas with an MBA degree and a 1976 graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Tim is a digital innovation executive with deep expertise in Digital Engagement / Marketing, Product Management, and eCommerce with extensive sales and operations experience. Tim is customer centric and results-oriented focusing his time, talent, and energy to improve a company’s profitability by leveraging technology to drive digital/business transformation. He has a proven ability to build a culture of innovation and high performing teams, developing new, innovative products to increase customer loyalty.
As GM B2B at Follett Corporation from 2014 to 2017, Tim was responsible for developing go-to-market strategy, business development, and business performance across four segments (B2B, B2C, Marketplace, and Services). Previously, Tim was Head of eCommerce Product Management at Office Depot / OfficeMax, where he drove digital development enterprise-wide and led the strategic planning for the merger with Office Depot.
From 2001 to 2013, Tim served in various executive roles at CVS Health, including VP, Digital Innovation & Marketing, where he created a Digital Center of Excellence for CVS Health and grew on-line transaction volume from $0 to over $3B during his tenure. During this time he recruited a high performing digital team of more than 130 employees. Earlier experience includes increasing responsibility in Product Development, Finance, and Accounting at Fortune 100 companies.
Tim is a 1992 graduate of IIT’s Stuart School of Business with an MBA degree and a 1984 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Accounting. Tim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and from 2017 to 2023 was on the Faculty at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management where he focused on Strategy & Innovation.
Mr.Bossart has over thirteen years of experience in buy-side investment management across multiple asset classes. His experience ranges across investment strategies, including private equity, structured fixed-income, and publicly traded equities. At High Street Charlie is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing on new investment opportunities as part of the investment team.
Prior to joining High Street in 2012, Charlie worked in equity research for a Chicago-based value-oriented hedge fund where he was responsible for fundamental equity research, financial modeling, valuation, idea generation, and purchase recommendations.
Prior to this, Charlie worked at Harbor Asset Management, a structured fixed-income investment manager located in Arlington, Virginia, where he was responsible for a variety of internal corporate finance functions including modeling cash flows and note-tranche level performance of Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO’s) and other investments under Harbor management and for producing all investment-related support for annual audits.
Charlie is a 2012 graduate of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a 2006 graduate of Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Blake has over 10 years of principal investing experience including equity investments, leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and portfolio company management. His experience spans a diverse set of industries including consumer products, manufacturing, financial services, and technology.
Prior to joining High Street Capital, Blake was a member of the investment team at Accretive Capital Management and worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs.
Blake is an MBA graduate of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in business strategy.
Derek, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, has over ten years of experience in corporate finance, investment management and advisory experience, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, growth equity, recapitalizations, and portfolio company management. He has deep experience in the industrials, consumer products and technology sectors.
Prior to joining High Street Capital, Derek was a Senior Associate with Corporate Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, where he was responsible for identifying, executing, and managing investments made from the firm’s $550 million fund. Prior to Corporate Partners, Derek was an Associate with Aramar Capital Group, a boutique investment bank, where he supported the firm’s sell-side advisory and strategic capital raising services for privately held, middle-market companies.
Derek is a 2010 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Statistics from the Wharton School, as well as a B.A. with distinction in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the College of Arts & Sciences, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Steve has 20 years of experience in private equity investing and investment banking. At High Street Capital, his responsibilities include deal sourcing, investment evaluation, leading transaction execution, and working closely with operating partners to serve portfolio company management teams.
Prior to joining High Street Capital, Steve was with The Edgewater Funds, where he led investments in various sectors including business services, industrials, and healthcare. Steve also served as a board member for various portfolio companies. Before Edgewater, Steve worked in the Investment Banking Division of J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc. At J.P. Morgan, he focused on mergers and acquisitions for client companies in diversified industrial segments, including transportation, logistics, paper, packaging, and building products.
Steve received his B.A. degree in Economics from Northwestern University, where he also played football. He lives in Park Ridge, IL with his wife and four children and remains active in coaching youth sports and other community activities.
Steve has over six years of experience in corporate finance, investing, operations, and marketing. At High Street, he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing on new investment opportunities as part of the investment team.
Prior to joining High Street Capital, Steve was a member of the business investment team at BP where he was responsible for supporting investments in convenience retail and midstream assets, and previously worked in other roles through BP’s rotational development program.
Steve is a 2024 graduate of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business where he received an MBA with honors with concentrations in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship. He is additionally a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a 2016 graduate of Washington State University where he received a B.S. in Bioengineering and a B.A. in Business Administration, with honors.
